SURVIVOR STORIES
Andre Mosley
On June 2, 2006 (the day before his 18th birthday), he turned himself into police because he was wanted for questioning in relation to a murder.
He has been incarcerated since that day.
No physical evidence ties him to the murder and the lone eyewitness at trial recanted-- explaining he had been coerced by CPD Detectives Forberg and Eberle to identify Mr. Mosley.
Andre is currently serving a 57-year sentence in a maximum security prison.
After learning of another instance where a witness accused Detective Forberg of coercing a false identification, Mr. Mosley filed a pro se successive post conviction petition.
Since then, we have uncovered over 20 other allegations of witness coercion and misconduct against these detectives. We also learned that Det. Forberg's wife was a State's Attorney working closely with the unit reviewing Andre's claims.
Today, the Presiding Judge granted our motion for a special prosecutor, ensuring that an independent, third party will review his case.
And 16 years later, Andre is one very important step closer to FINALLY receiving his constitutional rights.
